And once again I’m reminded how short life really is.
Alex, I didn’t know you at all but everyone at least knew of you. You were an amazing athlete and did incredible things with your life. Just searching your name brings up pages of all of your achievements, and if I’m able to accomplish just half of what you did I’ll be happy.
The truly heartbreaking thing about this all is imagining what your family is going through. Your mom was, and always will be, my favorite teacher. She is a such a nice, caring, spirited and devoted woman, and remembering how much she always talked about you during class just breaks my heart a little more. Not only did you not deserve this, but no parent should have to outlive their child.
You will be greatly missed.
